Have you ever done something and just felt great about it? Was it a simple act of kindness, a well-packed child's lunch, or a work accomplishment? Whatever it was, I know you know what I mean. These experiences are an expression of the greatness of you. No two people are exactly alike, nor should they be. There is no one like you. Your uniqueness is your greatness. We often lose ourselves in abandoning the one thing we can all do better than anyone else. And that is to be ourselves. We could see something on T.V. or a social media post or listen to the input from someone else. And all of a sudden, we felt like we were not enough. Or do we need to redo our lives? I remember running around in circles, attempting to create more remarkable advances in my business and personal life. Only to find that I was trying to copy someone else's strategy. Yes, there may have been people who excelled under their direction, but there were a large number who did not. There are many advantages to seeking another's guidance but not getting their answers. Why? Because no one else but you are you. We can feel the authenticity of the people we meet. People who repeat the words of others but do not have the experiences often sound hollow and rehearsed. Experience is the best teacher. And no one can teach what they don't know. So, has anyone else been you but you? Of course not. Guidance is good. But the exact answer is if it is a math problem. Because whoever you are, 1 + 1 will always equal two. Not only do you have your specific strengths and weaknesses, but you also have your unique desires. And as we go through life, we change our minds as we grow and experience the different phases of life. A new revelation can send us in a completely different direction. You may accomplish a desired goal and realize it is for someone else. And this is okay. It's not a mistake; it is a revelation. And personal growth is a custom-fitted suit made for you by you. Have you ever excitedly shared something with someone else and suddenly been deflated because they seemed critical or lacked your enthusiasm? You may have questioned yourself or reevaluated your self-worth. Never let anyone be the judge of your "Greatness of You." Sometimes, a person's reaction to you can be innocent, and it can also be malicious. Envy and jealousy are terrible things to have to deal with in others. And self-doubt is a killer of dreams, aspirations, and accomplishments. Human nature fights personal change. Our mental beliefs in ourselves falsely define us. It is to our advantage to guard ourselves against what we allow to take root in our minds. All too often, we, as human beings, are separated from our greatness. I knew I had been confident about an idea, so I researched my intended venture and saw someone doing something similar on YouTube. Or share my idea with someone. Suddenly, I am questioning myself. But here's the reality. No one is me, and no one is you. We bring our personalized perspective, flair, and insight. No one is better at being you, period. No one can validate you but you. And you do that just by existing. That is why shared dreams, actions, and desires judged by others can mess us up. Have you ever noticed that when people offer advice, they often start with "If I were You." How many of us genuinely consider that? Obviously, they are not you. So it's like a cat saying to a dog, "If I were you." How can anyone know what they would do as you when they don't even know you completely? We don't entirely know ourselves. We can rise to new highs when put to the test. You are capable of many things that you have yet to try. And you will only know what you can accomplish once you wholeheartedly commit to the task. When trying something new, it is natural to have fear, apprehension, or indecisiveness. It makes sense. Only a few people run around in a dark room they are unfamiliar with. And that would be painful and full of mishaps if the room was full of furniture. However, with careful and strategic exploration, you can navigate successfully over time. Your confidence will also grow as you venture into uncharted waters regularly. Experience creates sound judgment. And sound judgment increases confidence. Once you enact the snowball effect, you will move mountains and become a force to be reckoned with. All of this comes from the greatness of being you. Don't let anyone, including yourself, cheat you out of being you. Instead of attempting to be the next whoever. Be the first you. Sports present significant examples of firsts. Sometimes, records stand for years. Then, all of a sudden, someone smashes the record. And often, this cycle repeats itself in a short period. There was a time when so-called experts said a human could never run a four-minute mile. But, According to Guinness World Records, the fastest mile time by a male athlete is 3 minutes 43.13 seconds. It was achieved by two-time Olympic medalist Hicham El Guerrouj, representing Morocco in Rome on July 7, 1999. It doesn't matter if it's your special barbeque sauce or how you read your child bedtime stories with sound effects. It's your "Greatness of being you." And don't let anyone rob you of you. You are an incredibly unique individual, and your best has yet to come again and again. Well, my friends, until next time. As always: Please remember to Love Yourself. You are Not Alone. You are relevant and worthy. How About that?
