Show Notes

Oh, (Bleep) not again! How many times have you caught yourself whispering that to the ceiling, or maybe shouting it into your pillow?  Or maybe “,I cannot deal with this mess.”

Sound familiar? If so, welcome to the club; membership is involuntary, the dues are unreasonable, and the meetings are called at the worst possible moments. But as much as we wish otherwise, life doesn’t hand out passes for repeat offenses or messy reruns. Here’s the truth: you’re not alone, and you’re not as powerless as you feel. Let’s get real for a moment about what it means to face life when it feels like it’s just too much, too often, for one person to handle.

Sometimes You Just Have to Face It Let’s not sugarcoat it: life can be outrageously unfair. I’m not here to minimize the horrendous crap that can crash through your door, nor am I going to tell you that there aren’t moments that will push you past every boundary you ever thought you had. Pain, loss, betrayal, fear, the gutting shocks that leave you reeling—they’re real, and they hurt. Anyone who says otherwise hasn’t really lived or isn’t being honest with themselves. But here’s the thing: sometimes, you just have to face it. Not because you want to, not because it feels heroic or brave, but because it’s the only way forward. Like Brer Rabbit hurled into the bramble bush, sometimes what looks like the cruelest twist is the very thing that tests, sharpens, and ultimately reveals what you’re made of. The thorns tear, the world feels hostile, and the path ahead is nothing but shadows. Yet, moving through it—however slowly, however messily—is the only thing that keeps us from making things worse. Because that’s the other truth: when life knocks us down, the urge to spiral, to lash out, to give up, or to double down on self-destruction is strong. Sometimes, it’s almost irresistible. But making things worse—intentionally or not—only deepens the pain. The wisdom, the resilience, the wild, unexpected strength that blooms on the other side of hardship can be unbelievable. It’s forged in the fire. It’s not pretty, but it’s real. And it’s yours, if you keep moving forward. Here’s what you need to know: life is not done surprising you. Sometimes the surprises are good—unexpected laughter, sudden kindness, new beginnings. Sometimes, they’re just more mess. But every time you face what’s in front of you, you add to your own armor. You may not always win, but you grow. You learn. And you survive. So when the next storm comes—and it will—remember: you have faced darkness before and found your way through. The strength you earn today is the wisdom you will wield tomorrow. Keep going. You’re not done, and neither is life. But you are more powerful than you ever believed, and the story isn’t over yet. I would like to say this is just some good stuff to talk about, or some profound wisdom that just popped into my head. But the deep mental and emotional scars, the battles won and lost, make me feel like I am qualified to expound on these things. And I know there are plenty of us out here who have these same badges of honor. I sincerely salute you, and that comes from the heart. And whether everything blows over, or if you think you will be safe in a bunker, don’t give a damn, or worry yourself to death. We will face whatever together, and we will win in our personal lives and as a collective. So, my dearest friends, until next time. Peace, Love, Guidance, and protection. How about that?
